A modular town for displaced people will soon appear in the village of Serednye, Uzhgorod district. 12 houses have already been assembled, repair work and landscaping are currently underway. 

The progress of the project was reviewed by the head of Zakarpattia OVA Viktor Mykyta together with the official delegation of the government of the Slovak Republic. The partners joined the implementation of the initiative to create new housing for internally displaced persons. 

Also, within the scope of the visit, the leadership of the region and representatives of the Slovak government visited the evacuated Ukrainians from Mariupol, who live in a nearby house. Here, with the support of the "Caritas" charitable foundation, the first floor has already been renovated, and the rest of the premises are currently being renovated. 

In total, 24 Ukrainians live in the house, among them 11 children, some of them moved to Zakarpattia with their parents, and someone's closest relatives remained in the temporarily occupied territory. In particular, the couple of volunteers Volodymyr and Oksana Zavadsky, who from the first days of the war under enemy fire, took care of three children, were involved in the evacuation of Ukrainians from Mariupol. 

Viktor Mykyta thanked the couple for their courage, care and concern: "You have a really big and kind heart, and today you also have a big family, where there is enough love and warmth for everyone. Today and always you are one team». 

During the meeting, they discussed the current needs of the residents of the building and assured them of further comprehensive assistance, including the continuation of social and legal support. The head of Zakarpattia OVA also expressed his gratitude to international partners and representatives of the charity fund for their reliable support and assistance in the implementation of extremely important projects in our region today.
