ALCOHOL is responsible for 30% of deaths, 85% of crimes, 90% of rapes, and 50% of divorces; one in six children is born with developmental disabilities; and one in three women becomes infertile. Why does this happen? Because alcohol is a drug. Ethanol (alcohol), in small or large doses, is found in any alcoholic beverage. Within 20 seconds of consumption, it reaches the brain, where it affects the “pleasure center” in the hypothalamus, triggering a release of dopamine (the “happiness hormone”) into the body. But this is not the natural way. In real life, natural joy is achieved gradually, through effort. Alcohol disrupts this natural system. And the body seeks an easy way to obtain the “happiness hormone,” leading to addiction and the destruction of both the body and the person.
Through real-life examples, participants learned that the world would never have known stars like Artem Pivovarov and Oleg Psyuk (founder of the band Kalush). At one point, they were at risk of developing alcohol addiction. But they managed to pull themselves together and choose a happy path in life. Many of their friends were unable to make that choice and break free from their addiction.
During the training, participants realized that it is a mistake to think of alcohol as a “friend” who will “help” them relax and socialize. In reality, alcohol will take control and dictate your life.
