Moral and value aspects of forming healthy lifestyle skills in young people

Today, the training under the program "Moral and value aspects of forming healthy lifestyle skills in youth" continued with the topics: "Drugs. Drug addiction", "The truth about smoking".

In our lives, we often encounter warning signs that we usually don’t notice, or don’t want to notice. After all, behind those signs lies so much that is unknown, undiscovered… Our curiosity to learn “new things,” “What’s wrong?” we hear from “friends,” “It doesn’t concern me” are our thoughts, and all this takes precedence over our actions and we find ourselves in a minefield. And it is impossible to “get out” of this minefield without consequences. We can say that drugs, drug addiction are a mine, and the fragments of such a mine are the consequences that destroy and “take away” our lives.

The presentation of the topic was full of video materials, which demonstrated how a narcotic substance affects the body. First of all, it destroys the liver, brain, central nervous system, immune system, the drug is deposited in the bones, destroying them, preventing the absorption of a group of vitamins and minerals. And there were also video materials with testimonies of drug addicts who died, in their appeals they urged that no one ever use any narcotic substances. After all, this is 100% death. This is a mine that sooner or later will detonate and take our lives.

Nicotine is also a narcotic substance contained in cigarettes and is addictive. And various chemicals contained in tobacco products lead to cancer. I don't want to repeat myself, but someone who is addicted to smoking is walking through a minefield, already holding a grenade in their hands without a safety check. And it's only a matter of time before it explodes.

Tobacco manufacturers place warning signs on packaging: “smoking kills”, “smoking kills – quit now”, “smoking causes oral cancer”, “tobacco smoke contains more than 70 substances that can cause cancer”, and many others. The manufacturer knows that he is selling a “minefield” about which he warns so that there are no complaints later. Why do we ignore these signs and enter the “minefield”, risking our lives… Every year in Ukraine, 120,000 people die who have not returned from the “nicotine minefield”… Our training participants learned many facts about drugs and drug addiction. They were well aware of the consequences and what they can lead to if they ignore the warning signs. They learned how they can be manipulated and become addicted. And each participant went home with a definite decision not to use drugs, that the thought: “it doesn’t concern me” does not work. Sooner or later, a “grenade” with that name will explode…
